Hyundai
The Hyundai Motor Group is a South Korean car manufacturer headquartered in Seoul. Founded in 1967, the company currently owns a percentage of Kia Corporation, and also fully owns its luxury cars subsidiary, Genesis Motors, and an electric vehicle sub-brand, Ioniq.
The company's first model was the Cortina released, in cooperation with the Ford Motor Company, in 1968. They didn't enter the British market as Hyundai until 1982.
Growing demand for MPVs and SUVs, by the turn of the 21st century, saw Hyundai venture into these market sectors. By 2018 they were importing nine passenger vehicle ranges and two commercial vehicle ranges to Europe .
Hyundai has been particularly successful in the UK market and its millionth UK market model was sold in 2015.
