Renault
The Renault Group is a French automobile manufacturer established in 1899 producing a range of cars and vans. In the past it has also manufactured trucks, tractors, tanks, buses/coaches, aircraft and aircraft engines, and autorail vehicles.
The 1984 Espace launch was Europe's first multi-purpose vehicle, several years before any competitor, while the 2000 Laguna was the second European car to feature "keyless" entry and ignition. In the twenty-first century, Renault developed a reputation for distinctive, outlandish design, with the new look Mégane and Laguna being very popular.
Throughout its history, Renault has had many close alliances with other manufacturers including Nissan, Mitsubushi, American Motors and Diamler which has led to joint-development of technologies and growth in new markets.
