Toyota is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world, producing about 10 million vehicles per year.
Originally founded as a spinoff of Toyota Industries, a machine maker, with the development of its first passenger car in 1936, Toyota Motor was incorporated in 1937.
Toyota's operations in Europe began in 1963 and has a significant presence in Europe with nine production facilities as well as a joint venture plant with Citroën and Peugeot.
Toyota officially lists approximately 70 different models sold under its brand, including sedans, coupes, vans, trucks, hybrids, and crossovers.
