Volkswagen
Volkswagen (abbreviated as VW) was founded in 1937 and during World War II built military vehicles.
Revived into a global brand post-World War II the company is known for the iconic Beetle and campervan, first launched in the early 1960s.
Today, Volkswagen is the founding and namesake member of the Volkswagen Group, a large international corporation in charge of multiple car and truck brands, including Audi, SEAT, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, Scania, MAN, and Škoda.
Its name is derived from the German-language terms Volk and Wagen, translating to "people's car" when combined.
