Volvo Cars
Volvo was established in 1915 as a subsidiary of SKF, a ball bearing manufacturer; however the rollout of the company's first car series, the Volvo ÖV 4, in 1927, is considered their beginning.
Part of Volvo AB until 1999, it was then sold to the Ford Motor Company and, since 2010, has been owned by the automotive company Geely Holding Group.
Volvo is renowned for the safety and reliability they offer customers. In 2019, Volvo announced that it plans to produce only fully electrified cars from the year 2040 onwards and have since brought that date forward to 2030.
This Swedish car brand is a favourite on British roads, with models such as Volvo S60, Volvo V40 Cross Country and Volvo XC90 dominating.
